Initiative 63, which would have increased state funding for K-12 education fell well short of the 125,000 signatures needed to get on the ballot, and obtained an estimated 60,000 signatures. Colorado continues to rank near the bottom of K12 expenditures as a percent of our state GDP. Also, while the state continues to not fund it’s share of K12 funding via the appropriately named BS Factor, we somehow have funds to cut everyone $750 checks? Come on Colorado, we can and should do better for our kids.
